VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority paid rich tributes to the legendary poet Gurajada Appa Rao on his 150th birth anniversary on Wednesday.
While praising the contribution of the iconic poet, the vicechairman of VUDA Kona Sasidhar said Appa Rao's message of "Country means people. not soil" continues to be relevant. Popular drama 'Kanyasulkam' by Gurajada Appa Rao is a historical masterpiece in world literature that not only brought fame to the poet but also the Telugu people, he said.
