New Delhi: The Faridabad Police on Friday open fire to disband a violent crowd protesting the firing in Rajasthan on Gurjars who are demanding a Schedule Tribe status.
The mob of two hundred people put set a police jeep on fire and resorted to stone pelting on a march near Ankhir Chowk in the city.
The police effectively dispersed the protesters by firing in the air. A police personnel suffered minor injuries in the stone pelting.
Protestors also blocked Sohna-Faridabad Road at Pali and Bahri areas in the district.
During their protest on Thursday, a group of people set ablaze a Haryana Roadways bus that was on way to Delhi besides blocking roads at several places in the district.
