BELGAUM: Higher Education Minister V S Acharya advised couples change their tendency of having only one child and urged them to go for two children for a balanced society. Participating in a World Population Day programme organised by the district administration at Kittur on Monday, Acharya said that about five decades ago, couples' used to have more than two children.
"About a decade ago, it became a trend to have two children. Now couples prefer only one child," the minister averred.Acharya listed out problems in families and the nation if families started having only one child.
