BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday issued notices to the State government, BBMP and the CID following a PIL seeking a probe by the investigating agency into the multicrore scam in the BBMP.Hearing a pubic interest litigation filed by K Ramesh and others, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna issued notice to State government, BBMP and CID and directed to list the petition with other similar petitions on the same issue. The petitioners stated, “Out of the 10,109 work files of the BBMP, the team headed by Chief Engineer (Vigilance) perused 153 files and found irregularities to the tune of `1,540 in three divisions - Malleswaram, Gandhinagar and Rajarajeshwarinagar - in three years.“If the inquiry is extended to all 29 BBMP engineering divisions, a lot more irregularities will come to light. Government has ordered a CID investigation only in three divisions,” they said.
