HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation in association with the Department of Tourism held a Heritage Marathon on Sunday in which about 920 people, including international athletes, participated.According to the event coordinator Uma Chigurupati, 40 percent of the participants were from the city while the rest were outsiders.About 30 athletes came from Kenya, Ethiopia, USA, Australia and Belgium.Actor Milind Soman and Hyderabad-based industrialist Krishnaprasad Chigurupati, a Guiness record holder for marathon in Antarctica, also took part in the marathon.The marathon was flagged off from the Chowmahalla Palace and went through Charminar, Public Gardens, Tank Bund, Golconda Fort and culminated at the Qutb Shahi tombs. Chepngabit Koah Kipruto (Ethiopia) and Eunice Korir (Kenya), won the heritage marathon. `5-cr for Qutb Shahi tombs: Prof Chinna Reddy, Director, Department of Archaeology and Museums, said the department has been sanctioned `5 crore for the development of Qutb Shahi tombs alone and that works would start soon
