Hot, new sensation: Aditya Roy Kapur

VJ turned actor Aditya Roy Kapur made his debut in the movie London Dreams and his hands are full this Diwali. His movie Action Replayy released today 5 and Guzaarish will release on Novemebr 19. He says, “I was pretty happy being a VJ. And never thought about acting too much. I never really thought that I can do it. Though. I wasn’t averse to the idea. I did go for a few auditions and found my roles in Action Replayy and Guzaarish quite interesting and chose to try out acting in movies.”

Ranvijay, also a VJ turned actor is acting in Action Replayy. So was there ever a sense of competition? Aditya smiles and says, “Ranvijay and I are good friends. We both worked together in ‘London Dreams’ and became friends. The friendly banter about Channel V and MTV would go on but otherwise we have always helped each other.”

From working with Vipul Shah, to doing a serious film like Guzaarish with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya has had varied kind of experiences on the two sets. Aditya says,“I was new to having to take on so much responsibility as an actor for a film. And Guzaarish taught me how to handle that. In my first, two movies I worked with Vipul and when I bagged a role in Guzaarish, I knew that the experience would be different. It indeed was and was tough.”

And there also have been times when Aditya has been in self-doubt about his acting capabilties. “I have to admit that there were moments when I thought that I will not be able to pull off a scene. But my seniors, Akshay, Salman, Aishwarya have been very co-operative and helped me out.”

His most memorable moment while shooting Action Replayy was when he almost missed an accident. He recalls,“There was a scene for which I had to pull a car and that car was suspended by a pulley. I heard a noise and quickly stepped aside. And at that very minute the car crashed on the floor. That was scary and I think that I will never forget it.”

Aditya plans to celebrate Diwali with the crew of his film Action Replayy. And also confirms that he is single. “I am not dating anybody at present.” Thus putting to rest the rumours that he is dating his Guzaarish co-star Monikangana Dutta.
