Days after the HC Bench denied bail to Durai Dhayanidhi, son of Union Minister Alagiri, in the illegal granite quarrying case, special teams searched houses of Madurai strongman’s relatives to trace Durai.
The teams also held enquiries with Alagiri’s relatives Deepak and Rathinavelu to know the whereabouts of Durai Dayanidhi, who has been absconding since a case was booked against him in the granite scam.
According to officials of the special police team, several places in Madurai and Chennai were searched. Enquiries were also held with relatives of the Union Minister. A team conducted a search in the house of Seetharaman, advocate and father in law of Durai at Anna Nagar in Chennai.”After the search we also held an enquiry with those at the Chennai house. It was part of our investigation in to the illegal granite quarrying case,” a senior police official told Express.We told the relatives to inform Durai to appear before the police and extend cooperation for the investigation, he added.
