London: He was branded a "troll" by Charlie Sheen but his former 'Two and a Half Men' co-star Jon Cryer says he feared the actor, who was hospitalised twice during his drug-fuelled hell-raising 12 months, was going to die.

In those troubled months, Sheen was hospitalised twice and was fired from hit TV sitcom following his public rants against show's creators and Cryer.

"Mostly I was worried that Charlie was going to die. That was the big fear for me. And that did not occur and I'm thrilled about that,' Cryer said on Ellen DeGeneres show.

The 46-year-old actor, however, says that he would accept a private or public apology from Sheen.

"We have not spoken. And I will accept an apology both public and private. But again, it was in the heat of the moment I imagine when he said... so I did not put a whole lot of credence in it at the time," Cryer said.

Sheen had labelled Cryer a "turncoat, a traitor, a troll" in March for not calling him after he was fired from the

sitcom. Sheen has since apologised, saying he was "in a mood" when he lashed out.

Sheen has been replaced by Ashton Kutcher on the show, which will begin with his character's demise. Kutcher will play Internet genius Walden Schmidt, who is wealthy but unlucky in love.
