HYDERABAD: A laptop belonging to a senior IAS officer was stolen from his chamber in the Secretariat on Saturday. The officer, SP Singh presently working as principal secretary (Roads and Buildings), lodged a complaint with Saifabad police.Police said that Singh generally leaves the laptop in his chamber before leaving for the day. On Friday, after completing his work SP Singh left for the day. But when he came back to his office on Saturday morning, he found the laptop missing.“SP Singh’s chamber is located on the fifth floor of J Block in the Secretariat. We are suspecting the role of two attenders attached to the Roads and Buildings department office,” Saifabad inspector K Shankar said. Shankar said the attenders have access to keys of SP Singh’s office could have used them to open the door and steal the laptop. Saifabad police registered a theft case and investigation is on.
