New Delhi: Congress' Okram Ibobi Singh was on Friday sworn in as the Chief Minister of Manipur for a second consecutive term.

Singh, whose earlier government was the first in Manipur to complete a full term, said that he would expand his ministry after Holi.

The 37 newly-elected MLAs, senior party leaders, Union Minister of State Oscar Fernandes and senior civil and police officials were among those who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Singh said he had the support of the CPI — partners in the outgoing Secular Progressive ministry — as well as the RJD. The SPF now has a strength of 37 (Congress - 30, CPI - four and RJD - three) in the 60-member House.

Singh, who staked claim to form the government on February 28, said his administration will work for peace and development in the state. The Congress emerged as the single largest party in Manipur, winning 18 seats and leading in another three.
