Illegal mining: Final report likely on Monday

BANGALORE: A day after bits of the final report on illegal mining were leaked to the media, Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde is now said to have decided to submit the report on Monday.Sources said the Lokayukta will also consider giving a copy to Governor Hans Raj Bharadwaj in case the state government refuses to accept his final report.Though Hegde is said have little hope of the government acting on his report, he is of the belief that the Apex Court and the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) on mining appointed by the Supreme Court, are likely to pick the final report of the Lokayukta.The CEC has already taken cognizance of the Lokayukta’s interim report.
