THOOTHUKUDI: A tenth standard student, whose leg was severely injured in an accident, appeared for the examination on Monday though a surgery was scheduled for him in the afternoon. Agnesraj (16), son of Dhanush of Lurdhammalpuram, Thoothukudi,  and a tenth standard student of a private school here, met with an accident when he was travelling with his brother Sebastian on a motorbike on Sunday. As he suffered serious injuries, he was rushed to a private hospital. Doctors after examining him found that the bone on his right leg has suffered a fracture and advised him to undergo a surgery immediately. But, Agnesraj, who was left with social science exam alone on Monday, told doctors to permit him to write the exam and then perform the surgery on him. Moved by his confidence and keenness to attend the exam, doctors and te boy’s parents heeded his request. Following this his parents took him to St Lasalle Higher Secondary School, the examination centre, in a stretcher and was helped him to write the exam. Later, he was taken to the hospital for the surgery.
