BHUBANESWAR: Ramesh Majhi has done it. State’s IT Minister can now use Plus-Two Arts as his educational qualification on his bio-data. Currently, his profile page on Assembly website displays it as I.Sc. He had appeared for I.Sc in 1995, albeit unsuccessfully. Majhi has bagged first division in the Plus-Two Arts examination. He scored 62.6 per cent __ 376 out of 600. The legislator of Jharigam constituency in Nabarangpur, Majhi had decided to fulfil his dream of getting a graduate degree. In 1995, while studying at Biju Patnaik College here, he appeared for Plus-Two Science but could not clear it. Son of former Industries Minister Jadav Majhi, he could not have another go after his father’s death as he forayed into politics. The two-time MLA then decided to take the Plus-Two examination for the second time after his appointment as IT Minister. When Majhi sat for the tests in March, he drew media attention but was determined to go ahead. “I am happy to have cleared the examination with a first division. I always wanted to study further,” he told this paper. Already a politician, Majhi, 33, now wants to study political science as his major in BA.
