KADAPA: Local MP and YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy staged a dharna at Pulivendula police station on Sunday evening condemning manhandling of his party activist by the police. YSRC activist Rehamathulla was allegedly thrashed by Pulivendula police on Saturday for writing YSRC leader's name on his motorcycle's number plate.When Rehamathulla brought the issue to the notice of Jagan and showed him the injuries, the latter got furious.He immediately went to the police station to confront the CI and SI concerned, but both the officials were not present at the police station.Jagan staged a dharna at the police station demanding suspension of both the SI and CI.SP Sundarkumar Dass contacted Jagan over phone and tried to pacify him, but, Jagan demanded a public apology to Rehamathulla and also suspension of the two police officials.Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, Jagan condemned the incident and wondered whether writing the name of a leader on the motorcycle was an offense.
