Kupwara: Four terrorists, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, and a soldier were on Sunday killed in an encounter near the Line of Control in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In another encounter in Kalaroos village of Kupwara district, four terrorists have been killed while an army jawan was dead leaving other jawan injured.
The firing is still on between the two sides in both encounters. One soldier Naik Neeraj Kumar who was injured during the operation and later airlifted to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar, succumbed, Army spokesperson said.
The spokesman said the identity and group affiliation of the slain militants was not immediately known.
In an another incident of encounter between Army and terrorists in Keran one jawan was killed earlier on Sunday.
