The state government would honour the verdict of the Supreme Court, which has entrusted the investigation process of suspicious disappearance of ore from Belekere port to the CBI, said Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar here on Sunday.
He added that the state government will cooperate with the CBI in this regard. He told reporters that the BJP is against entrusting any case to the CBI for investigation but it has to honour the verdict of the highest court of the country.
When his attention was drawn to the remarks passed by the apex court with regard to the functioning of the CID in this case, Shettar refused to comment on it. He also refused to confirm if Murugesh Nirani has been appointed as the president of the state BJP.
“If the BJP high command has taken the decision it would make it known to the public,” he said. On the delay in appointing chairmen to various boards and corporations and reallocation of portfolios to some ministers, Shettar said it is the prerogative of the CM and he would do it at the appropriate time.
He added he would participate in the Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Day Programme in Gulbarga on September 17
