BANGALORE: The country made business of over Rs 50,000 crore in the year 2010, through online trade only.With the online business in the country slated to grow by 53 per cent in the next few years, the Karnataka Small Scare Industries Association (KASSIA) has now launched their website to mark an entry in to online business domain.Launching www.kassia.com, the Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, BWSSB and Urban Development congratulated the body for entering a domain that has remained unexplored by business houses in the country.“This would not only help the 6.5 lakh small scale industries in Karnataka but will help increase communication between members of KASSIA and draw external business,” said Prakash Raikar, President, KASSIA.The website will include micropages for small businesses, who will be able to sell their products online.On the sidelines of the launch, KASSIA addressed many woes that need to be looked into by the ministry.“The body has brought up the problems they face.The implementation of the IFA act, issue of trade license and property tax, authorizing green category status for industries, in co-ordination with the Pollution Control Board and also the VAT rate for Karnataka being high.Amongst this, the need for township for Peenya Industrial layout and Hosur Road will be looked into.I will bring this up in the budget meeting and hopefully we will be able to add it in the upcoming budget itself,” assured the minister.
