THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM state secretariat which discussed the inquiry committee report on the alleged misconduct by Gopi Kottamurickal here on Saturday is understood to be favouring disciplinary action against the state committee member and Ernakulam district former secretary. The state secretariat, which met here in the presence of party general secretary Prakash Karat, is understood to be favouring action against the party members who installed the hidden cameras that allegedly trapped Kottamurickal. It is also learnt that the official faction is trying to put the blame on K Chandran Pillai and S Sharma, two V S Achuthanandan loyalists, claiming they had a hand in the controversy. There are also reports that the official faction is trying to bail out Kottamurickal by persuading him to admit to the misconduct. In that event, he will be demoted. The recommendations of the inquiry committee will be discussed in the state committee meetings to be held on Sunday and Monday.
