Kozhikode: Reiterating that the T P Chandrasekharan murder conspiracy was hatched and executed by the CPM top brass, Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leaders have demanded a CBI probe into the larger conspiracy behind the murder.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, RMP Onchiyam Area Committee Secretary N Venu said, “Only a CBI probe can expose all those involved in the murder.” The murder conspiracy was hatched and executed by top CPM leaders of Kozhikode and Kannur districts, he said.
Hailing the stand taken by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and the SIT led by ADGP Vinson M Paul, RMP leaders said, “The probe so far has been satisfactory and we are demanding a CBI probe considering the sentiments of society to bring to book all the accused involved in the brutal murder,” they added.
In a bid to discourage the officials by threatening them, a CPM MLA, who is the wife of a main accused, has sought the personal details of the SIT officers through RTI. The Kerala Police may have limitations to move against all the persons involved in the murder. CBI inquiry is needed to bring to light the top leaders involved in the conspiracy, RMP leaders said.
So far, 27 CPM men including state committee member K K Ragesh, District secretariat members Karayi Rajan, P Mohanan Master and Onchiyam Area Committee Secretary C H Asokan have been arrested in connection with the murder of Chandrasekharan. Even though the role of the CPM has already come to light, the party is reiterating that it has no role in the murder and now is engaged in collecting crores of rupees for conducting the case proceedings, said RMP leader and Left Coordination Committee General Secretary K S Hariharan.
Two district committees of the party, and Onchiyam, Thalassery, Panur, Koothuparamaba and Peravur area committees are also involved in the case.
From this, it has become clear that the murder was executed with the knowledge of the CPM state leadership, alleged RMP leaders. RMP district secretary K K Kunjikanaran and Left Coordination Committee leader N P Bhaskaran Master attended.
