THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: Kiliroor rape victim, Shari’s parents, Surendran and Sreedevi on Thursday filed a petition before Thiruvananthapuram CBI Court seeking a reinvestigation into the rape and death of their daughter. In the petition, Surendran and Sreedevi alleged that the CBI investigation was incomplete as there was no probe into several allegations, including on involvement of VIPs in the case. The CBI team had also ignored material facts like the detection of excess of copper in Sari’s internal organs by the medical team who attended her and the recovery of a half-consumed tonic bottle by local police from Shari’s house. The tonic was suspected to have been given to her by the first accused turned approver, Omanakkutty. The allegation on early discharge of Shari from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital before she fully recovered in August 2004, was also left out by the CBI, said the petition. The CBI Court accepted the petition in file.
