New Delhi: King of Pop, Michael Jackson's memorial service will be held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The ceremony has attracted millions of fans from across the world. Official estimates say 17,500 fans will be able to enter the centre to watch the memorial while others will get to view it live in the adjacent Nokia theatre.

MEMORIAL VENUE: Staples Center, Los Angeles. The center is a world-class arena for sports and entertainment events located in Los Angeles, California.

CAPACITY: When configured for basketball, the Staples Center has a capacity of 18,997 spectators. When it hosts concerts and boxing matches, the Staples Center has a capacity of 20,000.

CELEBS ATTENDING THE SERVICE: Basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson, singers Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., Martin Luther King III, the Reverend Al Sharpton (who has been serving as a Jackson family advisor) and Shaheen Jafargholi (a finalist on Britain's Got Talent)

PRODUCER & DIRECTOR: Ken Ehrlich, known for producing the Grammy Awards, is producing the memorial show. Kenny Ortega, who was to have co-directed Jackson's series of concerts in London, England, this summer, will direct it.

ABSENTEES: Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe and actress Elizabeth Taylor - one of Jackson's closest friends.

MORE DETAILS: Beefed up public security before and during the service and cleaning post it could cost the cash-strapped city up to $2.5 million. Parking lots in the area have raised their prices, some as high as $30. Airports in Southern California saw a spike in bookings. Several movie theaters in the area announced special screenings of the event, which will also be carried live by some television networks and websites.
