The attack took place when the victim was attending a Yoga session inside the jail.
Kolkata: Happy Singh, a convict in the kidnapping of Khadim shoe baron Partha Roy Burman, was on Monday bludgeoned to death by a fellow inmate at the Presidency jail in Kolkata. Singh, who was serving a life sentence in the kidnapping case, was being held in a high-risk cell of the jail since 2001.
The attack took place when the victim was attending a Yoga session inside the jail. Singh was rushed to the MR Bangur hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The jail officials said that the attacker was mentally deranged.
