KURNOOL: A 14-year-old boy was abducted by moneylenders in Nandyal town on Friday as his father failed to repay the debts taken from them. The abductors kept the boy in their custody for four hours but later left him at his house at MS Nagar near the railway station.The boy's father, Javed, has been eking out a living as a cook in Amrutha Hotel.Apart from the son, Javed also has two daughters.In the last few months, Javed’s family members, including wife, fell sick and he also got his elder daughter married. This led to a financial crisis in the family and Javed borrowed about Rs 4 lakh from private moneylenders.As pressure for repayment mounted on him, Javed had been evading moneylenders and moving secretly for the last 10 days. Unable to catch hold of Javed, the financiers took away his son Fayaz from the house and told his wife that they would send back boy only after their money was repaid.Javed's neighbours gained information about the abduction and it soon was telecast by various TV news channels also."Fearing problem, the moneylenders left me at our house," Fayaz told news reporters. Fayaz also works in a hotel in the town. Meanwhile, III Town SI Siva Sankar said that they have not received any complaint about the incident so far.
