In a case of alleged 'moral policing' in Maharashtra's Ulhasnagar, a senior police inspector thrashed a youth and abused his female friend. The incident took place on Saturday.
Reports suggested that the couple was sitting in an autorickshaw and asked to step outside by some police personnel following which the man was thrashed while the woman was abused.
The senior inspector said that local residents complained about the couple indulging in obscene activities and therefore police took action.
