Mantorras to quit Angolan team after WC
Angola are in Group D along with Portugal, Mexico and Iran at the World Cup finals in Germany and play their first match on June 11.

Lisbon: Benfica's Angolan international Pedro Mantorras said on Wednesday he is quitting international football after the World Cup in Germany because he was reduced to a bit-part role at the African Nations Cup.

"I will continue in the national team only until the World Cup," the striker said.

"I am not going to leave my club, Benfica, to represent the Angolan side and then not be used. I won't accept this lack of respect."

The 23-year-old had a total of 59 minutes on the pitch during the three matches Angola played before crashing out of the tournament in the first round.

Mantorras has spent most of his career in Portugal.

He joined Portuguese champions Benfica in 2001 after one season at Alverca FC.
