Jaipur Mayor has written to the principal secretary of urban development housing and local self government to ensure compliance of Rajasthan High Court's directive in connection with a PRO's transfer order, allegedly defied by the CEO of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation.
Public Relation Officer Moti Lal Verma, who was transferred by his parent department Director of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) from Police Headquarters to JMC last year, was relieved by the civic body'a CEO and Commissioner Lal Chand Aswal on May 6.
Verma alleged that he was transferred without any transfer order from his parent department and he was relieved on the basis of telephonic conversation with the DIPR, whereas no order from the directorate for fresh posting was issued.
"On Verma's petition, High Court stayed the operation of the order (of CEO) after which the PRO went to resume duty with the court order and his application, but the CEO did not allow him to resume. There were no transfer orders from DIPR and the CEO transferred the PRO back on his own level," Jaipur Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal said.
She has requested the principal secretary to ensure compliance of the court order.
There was no order from my parent department and the CEO relieved me on his own and without any reason. When I went to the CEO with the court order and application for resuming duty, he defied it, Verma alleged in his application to the Mayor.
Meanwhile, Director of Information and Public Relations Anil Gupta said that the department would also write a letter to the CEO-JMC for the compliance of the high court order.
"There was no transfer order from our department for the PRO Moti Lal Verma from JMC. I will be writing the JMC to allow the PRO to resume the duty as per the high court order," Gupta said.
CEO Aswal did not respond, when reached over phone.
