Jaipur: Mika and Rakhi - two donkeys named after pop singer Mika Singh and actress Rakhi Sawant - were crowned the best models at the annual donkey fair in Rajasthan.
Among the various events organised at the 500-year-old donkey fair at Loonyiawas village, nearly 20 km from Jaipur, Rakhi bagged the "Mrs Donkey" title while the "Mr Donkey" title went to Mika.
As many as 1,200 animals had arrived at Looniyawas village to participate in one of the biggest donkey fair, probably the only event of its kind in Asia.
The three-day fair, which ended on Monday, was also thronged by donkey breeders drawn from various parts of the country for their trading.
"Both Mika and Rakhi impressed the judges on the basis of their personality, costume and voice," an organiser of the fair, BS Rajwat said.
Some people came only to witness the rare events connected with the fair.
"I came here to witness the fashion parade. It is quite different from other fairs," Kishore Singh of Goner village said.
"The best part was when the organisers tried to make the donkeys stand in a row but failed even after an hour-long effort," a very amused Kishore added.
In the racing event, the donkey named Shah Rukh Khan outwitted all competitors while Mika came second.
In the dance competition, Vasundhara was declared winner for her enthralling performance.
A kavi sanmelan (poetry recital) was also organised where poets narrated their poems dedicated to donkeys.
