BANGALORE: Dr Ramesh Babu, a city based 55 year old Metallurgical Scientist and Founder Director of the Top of the World Centre for Excellence, along with three copartners, has broken the existing Limca Book of World Records for fastest car driving from Kanyakumari to Kashmir by a margin of 1 hour 50 minutes.
Babu, who already is credited with 40 world records and seven national records, said, "Driving from Kanyakumari to Kashmir covering a distance of 4,002 kms in just three days 21 hours and 50 minutes was really thrilling.""But at the same time, the expedition was not so smooth, we had a lot of problems with the landslide at Rohtang Pass, Manali etc. We lost our precious seven hours due to snowfall, nonfunctional gears and leakage of fuel tank was another bad encounter we had," he added.

Not just this, adding yet another achievement was the round trip.

Fiftyfiveyearold D K Kumar, expilot and coordinator of Karnataka Kleening Korporation, 63yearold L D Govindarajan, proprietor, Srinivasa Auto Garage and 31yearold Abhinand Raj, an Interior Decorator, were among the three other codrivers with Babu.

'We were advised against it'

Babu said, "We are now compiling the records of the entire drive. In another two to three days, we will send it to the Limca Book of World Records."

What's your reaction?
