Metro: BMRCL gets clearance to Rolling Stock

BANGALORE: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) received official clearance to Rolling Stock from the Railway Board. “Once we receive the official clearance to Schedule of Dimensions, we will send the compliance report to the Commissioner of Rail Safety. He will then give us the safety certificate,” said Yashwant Chawan, Public Relations Officer, BMRCL on Thursday.On Wednesday, BMRCL was waiting for official communication from the Railway Board for the Schedule of Dimensions (SOD) and the Rolling Stock. The Railway Board is said to have cleared both the Schedule of Dimensions and the Rolling Stock on Wednesday evening. But BMRCL is yet to receive official communication on SOD.The CRS needs compliance from BMRCL on 28 shortcomings. Out of these 28 shortcomings, the Schedule of Dimensions and the Rolling Stock require clearance from the Railway Board. The remaining 26 shortcomings have to be improved by BMRCL. The compliance report will imply that BMRCL is willing to work on all the shortcomings. These steps are crucial as Namma Metro chugs towards inauguration.
