New Delhi: A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed at Shibkhola near Kurseong in West Bengal's Darjeeling district on Thursday afternoon.
The pilot of the aircraft was missing, state IGP (Law and order) Raj Kanojia was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
The aircraft took off from Bagdogra at about 13oo hrs IST.
A search operation was launched in the area.
Last year there were fifth fighter aircrafts that had crashed and all five crashes involved the MiG series of aircraft.
