Miscreants Damage Shrine

PARAVOOR: The glass panel of St Mor Gregorios Abdul Jaleel Shrine in Perumpadanna near here was found partially damaged after miscreants threw stones at it.Police have ruled out a communal angle in the incident. Some local people said that the dispute between the church Officials could have been behind the incident. The police have registered a case and are investigating, said SI T Sreekumar.Meanwhile, Metropolitan Abraham Mar Severios accompanied by Fr Sahu Paracka, Fr Mathew Parackal and Church secretary E A Mathew, visited the shrine. Metropolitan Mar Severios ruled out any communal interest behind the action. He called upon those persons to repent for their actions and work with the public to restore the damaged shrine.A protest meeting held in this regard was inaugurated by V D Satheesan MLA at Perumpadanna here on Wednesday evening.
