In his first rally after the Patna serial blasts rocked his Hunkar rally at Gandhi Maidan on October 27, BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally at Jagdalpur in Bastar on Thursday.
Taking a dig at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Modi said 'Shehzada' has fooled people by portraying the food bill as their initiative. "This was brought by Dr Raman Singh first," he said.
"Dr Raman Singh built medical college in remote areas of the state and created opportunities for the youth. Chhattisgarh was saved because you trusted Raman Singh, BJP," said Modi to the supporters.
Further cashing in on Raman Singh's clean image and development works in Chhattisgarh, he said that had the people of Chhattisgarh not voted for BJP, their condition would have been like Uttarakhand and Jharkhand.
"Why did Chhattisgarh progress while Uttarakhand and Jharkhand were left behind? Because Congress ruled the other two states. Uttarakhand government does not care about the people who died in the floods and Jharkhand could not progress because of political instability," he said.
He further took this opportunity to hit out at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for not showing any remorse during Patna serial blasts during his Hunkar rally which had claimed six lives .
"When Naxals attacked Congressmen, Dr Singh stopped his rally and expressed his anguish, expressed regret. Raman Singh went and met relatives of Congress leaders who were killed. But on the other hand, such a big terror attack took place on BJP rally, but forget regretting the incident, Bihar govt laid out a chappan bhog banquet," said Modi.
"Our countrymen may have voted for relatives, castes, religion but now vote for progress. I request you to vote in large numbers and vote for the Lotus. I thank you for coming in large numbers," he said while concluding his speech in BJP's stronghold Bastar.
