Moradabad: Police, local residents clash over alleged extortion by policemen

Moradabad: Clashes broke out between local residents of Moradabad and police on Saturday after some policemen allegedly tried to extort money from them.

A youngster was brutally beaten by the police. He has been admitted to a local hospital and is reported to be critical.

An investigation has been started against the police officers accused of extortion. Residents alleged that their complaints of extortion by police went unheard for a long time.
