New Delhi: One of the 11 MPs who were sacked on Friday, claimed he had informed Speaker Somnath Chatterjee about his meetings with "mysterious" company officials in November.
Expelled BSP MP, Raja Ram Pal, said that he had written a letter to the Speaker on November 14, informing him that a woman impersonating a company official had met him with requests to raise questions in Parliament.
Pal claimed he had sent the letter to the Speaker via registered post from UP four days after his meeting with the woman who called herself Namita Malhotra.
The expelled lawmaker, however, did not produce any Lok Sabha acknowledgement of his letter except to show copies of postal registration slips.
He also accused the Bansal committee probing the Cash-for-Question scam and the Speaker of ignoring his defence and expelling him from the Lok Sabha.
"My case is completely different from the other expelled MPs. I had told the Speaker of this sting operation. Had he acted in time, Operation Duryodhan would not have happened," said Pal.
Pal has said that he will take the matter to court.
In his purported letter to the Speaker, the suspended BSP leader also stated that attempts were made in July to raise a question in Parliament in his name but without his signature.
