New Delhi: An FIR has been lodged against MLA Mukhtar Ansari and four others for murdering BJP MLA Krishannanda Rai in Uttar Pradesh.
FIR has also been lodged against Ansari's close aide and sharp shooter Babu Yadav who is in Gazipur jail.
The body of Rai will be brought to Varanasi on Wednesday night and his cremation will be done in Varanasi. Rapid Action Force and CRPF have been deployed in the area to counter any unforeseen circumstances.
"We have asked for a report from Lucknow and after that we will decide what constitutional dierctive can be given," Home Minister Shivraj Patil said.
Uttar Pradesh's law and order situation is once again echoing in the Parliament and this time two ends of the political spectrum, the BJP and Congress are together to take on the Samajwadi Party over the killing of Rai.
However, the Left, like friend Samajwadi Party chose to blame it on the criminalisation of politics.
"Its a gang war, this is what happen when crminals are voted in," CPM leader Mohd Salim said.
"UP is no different from Bihar," SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav said.

For BJP and Congress who are desperately trying to regain their political space in UP this issue is something that the paarties can capitalise on.

The slain MLA was a known political opponent of independent MLA from Mau, Mukhtar Ansari.
The Uttar Pradesh Opposition has demanded imposition of President's rule in the state.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan has said that Rai had a criminal background and he met his fate.
About three years back, in an exchange of fire allegedly between supporters of the slain MLA and Ansari, three persons had died.
Later, in January 2004, Mukhtar?s cavalcade was attacked in the Cantonment area allegedly by Roy?s supporters.
During the last Lok Sabha election, Sheshnath, a Roy supporter and close relative of an MP, was killed near Mohanpur village in Mohammadabad tehsil of Ghazipur district.
Recently, three supporters of Roy were reportedly killed at Parasa village in Ghazipur district.
