Mumbai: A Jet Airways international flight from Mumbai to Bahrain was on Sunday delayed by two hours after the airline's staff received an anonymous call claiming a bomb was on board. It turned out to be a hoax.
The flight 9W 592 from Mumbai to Bahrain took off at 9:30 pm - two hours after its original departure time of 7:30 pm.
After the bomb scare, security agencies including the Central Industrial Security Force and Mumbai Airports Authority were alerted and the Kochi-Mumbai-Bahrain flight was thoroughly checked.
"The flight was rescheduled following a non-specific bomb threat call received at our call centre. Security forces checked and the Boeing 737 flight with 154 passengers and crew members ahead of its departure at 9:30 pm," an airline official said.
