New Delhi: British Prime Minister Theresa May inducted two Indian-origin MPs into the Conservative government, including Rishi Sunak, who is the son-in-law of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy.
Apart from Sunak, Suella Fernandes, a Goan-origin MP was also given a ministry rank as May reshuffled her top team of ministers and secretaries on Monday.
Sunak, who enters the government as a parliamentary under secretary of state in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and local government, was first elected in 2015 from Richmond in North Yorkshire and re-elected in 2017.

Both Sunak and Fernandes have been vocal supporters of Brexit.
The 37-year-old, who is Oxford and Stanford University alumnus, is also the co-founder of an investment firm working with Bengaluru-based Silicon Valley companies.
Sunak met Akshata Murthy at Stanford University, where he lived for several years before returning to India.
