REPALLE (Guntur dist): Fuelling political speculations that several Jagan loyalist MLAs in the Congress may desert him in the wake of a CBI probe into his ‘illegal’ assets, Prathipadu MLA Mekathoti Sucharita and Macherla MLA Timmeli Ramakrishna Reddy did not turn up for the second phase of Odarpu Yatra launched by the YSR Congress Party president from Peteru village on Wednesday.According to YSRC Party sources, all the loyalist MLAs who submitted their resignations in protest against inclusion of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name in the FIR filed by the CBI in probe into Jagan’s illegal assets, to attend the second round of Odarpu Yatra to prove that they are still with the YSRC chief. But no MLA or other senior leader attended the meeting.Former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy was conspicuous by his absence at the second phase of Odarpu Yatra.Jagan toured Munsibpuram, Nalluripalem and Aravapalli villages on the first day of his second phase of yatra in Guntur district.He reached Repalle by evening.He unveiled six statues of his father YSR en route.During his yatra, Jagan alleged that the Congress high command was trying to tarnish his image using the CBI as a tool.Addressing a gathering at Peteru, the YSRC president said the CBI used to take up probe against the leaders who fight against the ruling Congress.The CBI had become Congress Bureau of Investigation by taking up probe against opposition party leaders as per the directions of the party high command.The CBI took up a probe against him based on the false allegations made by some people with vested interests, Jagan said.He saw a political nexusbetween the Congress and Telugu Desam in the state to malign his family.
