Islamabad: Pakistan doesn’t want war but has the right to defend itself if attacked, said the country’s Foreign Minister on Sunday.
"Pakistan doesn't want war and we are desirous of peace, but if war is thrust on us, then we have all the rights to defend," said Shah Mahmood Qureshi, hinting at India.
"We are prepared to fully cooperate with India, but India should provide concrete evidence," he said on the private Geo TV channel.
Qureshi denied that the international community was not satisfied with Pakistan’s crackdown on militant groups and claimed the world “appreciates” Pakistan’s efforts after the Mumbai terror attacks.
Qureshi’s statement came after Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that Pakistan must act against terrorists and “mere talk is not enough.”
