Pakistan fought back spelndedly under the floodlights to bowl out the Indian for just 71 runs in 18.5 overs.

New Delhi: Indian colts failed to be inspired by the splendid performance of their seniors in Pakistan and put up a pathetic performance to lose the final of the under 19 Cricket World Cup final to Pakistan by 38 runs.

It was a nightmare for the batsmen of both the teams at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Electing to bat Pakistan were bowled out for 109 in 41.1 overs with Piyush Chawla being the main destroyer taking four wickets for eight runs in 8.1 overs.

But Pakistan fought back splendidly under the floodlights to bowl out the Indian for just 71 runs in 18.5 overs.

Anwar Ali was the chief architect of Pakistan's win taking five wickets in nine overs conceding 35 runs.

Pakistan had also won the previous edition of the U-19 Cricket World Cup.

The Indian team, led by Ravikant Shukla, had impressed immensely in the tournament but could not deliver when it mattered most.
