Srinagar: In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistani Rangers on Sunday night opened fire on several forward posts in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu
and Kashmir.
"Pakistani troops have been resorting to unprovoked small arms firing in forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishnagati, Mandi, Balakote and Pallanwala sectors since 9:30 PM on Sunday night," a defence spokesman said.
While Krishnagati and Mandi sectors fall in Poonch, Balakote and Pallanwala are in Rajouri and Jammu respectively.
Army troops guarding the LoC took positions and retaliated effectively resulting in exchange of firing, the spokesperson said, adding, there has been no loss of life so far.
Pakistani rangers had on Saturday night resorted to firing of mortar bombs on border out-posts along the International Border in Jammu district.
"Pakistan Rangers resorted to firing of two mortar bombs on BoPs along the IB in RS Pura sector around 10:40 PM on Saturday night," a senior BSF officer had said earlier in the day.
BSF troops guarding the borderline had observed calm by not retaliating to last night's ceasefire violation.
