BANGALORE: If the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) construction works around the city was not threatening enough, the BBMP Contractors’ Association has warned to stop all the development works to go on an indefinite strike from Monday. The members of the association alleged that Palike owed around Rs 4,700 crore dues, including Rs 2,000 crore which is pending through hundi system and Rs 2,700 crore through pending bills for the work executed in the previous fiscals. “BBMP commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda had announced to release Rs 850 crore through hundi but nothing has been done so far,” a member alleged. Further, they alleged that Palike for the past 20 months had not paid money to the contractors.
