New Delhi: The Supreme Court Wednesday refused to shift the trial of Moninder Singh Pandher, accused of sexually assaulting and killing over 20 people, mostly children, to the capital from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
A bench of Justice B N Aggarwal and P P Naolekar did not grant legal relief to Pandher saying that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was still investigating the case and it would be premature to pass any such order at this juncture.
Pandher's son, Karandeep Singh, had petitioned the Supreme Court for his father's trial to be shifted to Delhi.
He had also sought permission from the court to meet his father. Dismissing his plea, the bench directed him to approach the trial court at Ghaziabad.
Pandher, a businessman, along with his domestic help Surendra Koli, are the main accused in the shocking crime that came to light with the discovery of human remains from a drain near Pandher's bungalow in Noida in December 29.
