KOCHI: The Ernakulam Crime Branch on Saturday took one more person into custody in connection with the Paravoor sex case. Sources said that the accused was a Tamil Nadu Elecricity Board employee and was taken into custody from Coimbatore. It is learnt that he was taken into custody based on the evidence given by Jessymol and Shajimon, the Kottarakkarabased agents, who were arrested earlier.
The Ernakulam Crime Branch on Saturday filed a request before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court to conduct an identification parade of the 10 accused arrested by it in the sex case. So far 32 accused have been arrested in the case.Meanwhile, the Aluva Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Saturday remanded Thomas Varghese, a CPM leader, who was arrested in the case on Friday. He was remanded for 14 days.

The Crime Branch officials said the interrogation of Thomas Varghese had yielded results. "We were able to collect some important details from the interrogation. Earlier, he was trying to mislead us. Hence one person who was taken into custody on Friday was released on Saturday," the officials said.
