Kanpur: The constituency of the Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal has been the scene of public urge for instant justice.

Locals in Kanpur thrashed up a policeman on Sunday after the body of a youth was found in the morning.

Angry residents also blocked a road in Kanpur on Sunday morning.

DIG Kanpur, Hari Ram Sharma told CNN-IBN that the allegations of custodial death were untrue.

Sharma told the channel that a man identified as Gajraj Singh, son of Dashrath Singh worked at a poultry farm as a chowkidaar . Singh had hired his neighbour Govind Singh’s auto to travel last night.

The police received a call from a person named Virender Mishra at 9.21 on Saturday night that a man sitting in the passengers seat in the auto at Mandna crossing has had his skull smashed due to collision with a DCM (Toyota make four wheeler).

Sharma informed CNN-IBN that the police tried locating the vehicle on Saturday night but the body of Gajraj Singh was found on Sunday morning instead. Sharma also reiterated that the people’s allegation that Singh died a custodial death is baseless.
