MALAPPURAM: “Don’t force DYFI into a situation where the Chief Minister and other ministers will have to deploy SPG protection,” said DYFI national president P Sreeramakrishnan on Wednesday.Inaugurating the DYFI district special convention here, he said that the organisation will take tough steps if the government continues to crush civil society movements using police force.He alleged that the state and central governments were suppressing people’s movements that are against corporate interests. “The government is suppressing the agitators as if they are its enemies.If this attitude continues, we won’t allow the ministers to move around peacefully,” he warned. DYFI state secretary T V Rajesh and district secretary K P Anil also attended the convention.
