BANGALORE: The Vijayapura police have arrested a man who allegedly murdered a hotelier and tried to mislead the police by creating a scene to make it look like an accident. Murali (21), a resident of Pragathi College behind Shidlaghatta Cross, is the accused. He allegedly murdered Rudresh (45), who was running a hotel near Shidlaghatta Cross. He was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Devanahalli Road near his house.According to the police, Murali, who worked at a brick factory, used to visit the victim’s hotel and was attracted towards Rudresh’s wife. The latter learnt of it and asked him not to come to the hotel. Murali, who thought that he could not lure Rudresh’s wife till the latter is alive, hatched a plot to kill him. In the wee hours of Friday, when Rudresh came out of the house to attend nature call, Murali allegedly hit him with an iron rod on his head and murdered him.“He carried the body on the victim’s two wheeler and threw it on the road and created a scene to make it look like an accident. He also dropped a boulder on the victim’s head. The police after examining the scene suspected foul play behind the murder and during investigation they found Murali’s involvement. Later, he was arrested,” the police added.Investigations are on.In other case, the Adugodi police arrested a person after an unnatural death case turned out to be a murder. The accused has been identified as CC Kariya alias Raja. He is accused of murdering his friend and neighbour Arun (22) on October 30.The duo were residents of Lakshmanarao Nagar in Koramangala and both were labourers.According to the police, the duo had a fight over financial matters and the accused allegedly killed Arun by dropping a boulder on his head and put the body in a sump, in an under construction building. The police had registered a case of unnatural death but the victim’s brother, Chiranjeevi, suspected the role of Raja behind the death. During investigation, the police found Raja’s involvement in the murder and arrested him. Investigations are on.
