ANANTAPUR: One Town police seized Rs 10 lakh cash from a person identified as Umesh at a checkpost setup near the collectorate on Sunday. According to CI K Bhaskar, as part of election security protocol and measures to prevent flow of cash and liquor into the constituency, which is going for byelections, security checkpoints were setup at different places.When a vehicle was being checked at the checkpost near the collectorate, Umesh was found with the money. On being questioned, he said that he is from Venus Enterprises Cell Point in the town and was going to Hyderabad with money from his sales. He failed to produce documents to support his claim. The cash was seized and Umesh was asked to get the necessary documents to prove his case. They warned him that if documents were not produced, the amount would be handed over to the IT department and a case would be registered.
