VISAKHAPATNAM: The police have launched a manhunt to nab two others accused in the gangrape of two girls, here on Monday. The case was registered with the Pendurty police, here on Sunday. The two girls are undergoing medical treatment at King George hospital and several womens’ organisations have expressed solidarity with the girls.President of Telugu Desam mahila wing, Annamreddy Vani along with party cadre visited the hospital and expressed their solidarity with the victims. The girls narrated to the leaders as to how they were exploited by the accused Srikanth and his friends. The girls requested the leaders not reveal their parents’ names and addresses to the general public.The victims told the women activists that one of the accused persons, around 4 a.m, opened the door, while the other accused were sleeping. Finding the door open they ran away from Srikant’s house.Later, Vani and other leaders met police commissioner and urged him to send squads and arrest remaining accused immediately.Speaking to reporters Vani said, in the state women were not safe, especially working women and that too when a woman Sabitha Indra Reddy was heading the home ministry.She charged that after Sabitha had taken over as home minister acid attacks other crimes had increased in the state.Srikanth, his wife Ratna and three others are in police custody. Three teams are searching for the other two accused. DCP Balakrishna and ACP Prasada Rao visited Srikanth’s house at Papayyarajupalem village, where the girls alleged that they were gangraped.
