CHENNAI: Krishnagiri police on Wednesday grilled Suba Ilavarasan, leader of the New Justice Party, in connection with a car theft case.Ilavarasan was picked up by Krishnagiri police for questioning after the suburban police found an abandoned car near Arumbakkam and alerted them, following inquiries which revealed a trail leading to the politician. The car had gone missing in 2010 from the Hosur SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu). On investigation, the ownership of the car was claimed by New Justice Party’s central Chennai district secretary, Ram Kumar, who said he had lent the car to his party leader, Ilavarasan. 3 Held for TheftPolice detained three people involved in a robbery case here, on Wednesday. The three allegedly snatched gold jewels worth more than 40 sovereigns from some women at a beauty parlour near Anna Nagar and escaped from the spot after damaging the CCTV. After a thorough probe, a special team nabbed the accused, police said.
